Habits

Develop new habits. Studies have shown they stimulate creativity and innovation. A while ago I read an article in the New York Times that inspired me to be a little more conscious of my own habits and regimens. Why do we tend to develop habits? For some complacency and laziness may trigger a certain tendency, others stick to their habits because they feel safe and comfortable with familiarity, and still others because due to addiction. Try something new. Be conscious and mindful of your seemingly unbending routine and stimulate your brain. If you're right handed, try eating with your left hand. Take a different route home from work. Commit to running or doing yoga before work in the morning. No matter how significant or trivial the action seems, it sends vibrations through your brain triggering greater awareness and fostering creativity.

So play a little.

The sun rises...

I've always been a private person, careful not to reveal too much about myself, yet always appreciating a genuine and openhearted conversation with anyone who is willing. Lately, an insatiable desire to write and share pieces of myself has taken over and I can't resist indulging.

I love discovery, spontaneity and throwing myself into new experiences and unfamiliar situations. Doing so, I feel I'm constantly evolving. In that spirit, I decided to entertain this urge to be more open. As I tend to pursue a variety of interests at any one time, the entries will weave all sorts of topics - travel, living in NY, lifestyle, music, etc. I can't wait to see what happens.
